About me

I was born and raised in Argentina. After earning my undergraduate degree in Computer Science at the Universidad Nacional del Comahue in Patagonia, I completed a Masters at the University of Bolzano and a PhD at INRIA Nancy Grand Est, where I researched multimodal AI agents and natural language processing—particularly how embodied agents interpret instructions through language, perception, and action.

I currently lead AI research at Fundación Vía Libre, an NGO that has been defending digital rights in Latin America for over 25 years. I’m also an associate professor at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba. My work lies at the intersection of natural language processing, human-computer interaction, and AI ethics, with a focus on responsible AI, multicultural NLP, and participatory methods.

I’ve led co-designed research across Latin America with educators, students, and local communities to assess the societal impacts of large language models. This includes engaging secondary school teachers in evaluating model biases and promoting data literacy in underserved contexts through initiatives like the AI course with teachers.

I’ve held fellowships at the Stanford Center for the Study of Language and Information, the Universita di Trento, the University of Southern California, and others. I’ve contributed to open-source educational tools, taught NLP and AI at undergraduate and graduate levels, and served on executive, program and ethics committees for top NLP conferences.

Throughout my career, I’ve been committed to expanding access to AI research in Latin America and building capacity for critical, context-sensitive AI development in the Global South.
